Tuna Steak and Cucumber Salsa

I absolutely LOVE fish but I always seem to forget about it when I’m shopping…. Thankfully, we have an amazing fishmonger in Aviemore, Pro Fish where I go for all my fish. That’s where I got these amazing tuna steaks! 😍

I had this for the first time about 2ish years ago when my fiancé first made it for me…. I was a bit weirded out at the thought of fish as salsa but after the first bite I was converted!

My plan this year is to try to eat more fish and that’s a great option for a Keto diet! So, let’s kick off 2023 with my first fish recipe!

🐟 Tuna Steak with Cucumber Salsa 🐟

  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tuna steaks

For the salsa..

  • 1/2 a cucumber
  • 2 spring onions, finely chopped
  • 1 medium tomato, finely chopped
  • 1/2 a large red chili, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp of chopped parsley
  • 1 tbsp of lime or lemon juice

Makes 4 servings …the following macros are for 1 serving.

2.7g Net carbs, 14g Fat, 42g Protein and 319 Calories.

Pop the oil and tuna steaks into a food bag and rub together well and leave for 30mins while you make the salsa.

Peel and half your cucumber and scoop out the seeds. Chop the cucumber into small diced pieces. Add the rest of the ingredients, give it a good mix, season and set aside.

Next, grab a (ideally) griddle pan and make sure it’s at a hot heat. Your basically going to treat the tuna steak the same way you would a beef steak. I tend to go for 2 minutes per side so it’s pink in the middle but it completely depends on the size of the steak and how you personally like it done.

Remove the steaks and leave to rest for a few minutes, then spoon over the salsa to serve!

Tada!

Are you guys tuna fans? 🤔
